Remove a word you added to the system
Use this function if you accidentally added a word to the system or if a word you added now continually appears in the recognized text even though you did not dictate it.
Note: You can remove more than one word at the same time; for more information, see: Working on more than one word at the same time.
To remove one or more words you previously added, do the following:
In the Personal Lexicon Manager, select the words you no longer want to be recognized in your recordings.
Click Remove.
Alternatively, do the following:
In the Personal Lexicon Manager, select the Advanced mode check box.
Select the words you no longer want to be recognized in your recordings.
Click Deactivate.
The words will no longer be recognized in your recordings. However, they are not deleted permanently from your personal lexicon but only deactivated and can be reactivated or deleted permanently in advanced mode.
To delete one or more words permanently from your personal lexicon, do the following:
In the Personal Lexicon Manager, select the Advanced mode check box.
Select the words you want to delete from your personal lexicon.
Click Delete.
The words are deleted permanently from your personal lexicon and will no longer be recognized in your recordings. To reactivate them, you must add them again as new words to the system using the Speech Accuracy Trainer. For more information, see the Speech Accuracy Trainer Help.
Reactivate a word you removed from the system
Use this function if you accidentally removed a word and want to reactivate it.
Note: You can reactivate more than one word at the same time; for more information, see: Working on more than one word at the same time.
To reactivate one or more words you previously removed from the system, do the following:
In the Personal Lexicon Manager, select the Advanced mode check box. All words you have removed are now displayed with status Deactivated in the Type column.
Select the words with status Deactivated you want to reactivate.
Click Activate.
The words' status changes to Activated in the Type column and they will be recognized again in your recordings.
Note: To reactivate words you deleted permanently from your personal lexicon, you must add them again as new words to the system using the Speech Accuracy Trainer. For more information, see the Speech Accuracy Trainer Help.
Teach the system how you pronounce a word you added/trained
Use this function if a word you previously added or trained is still not recognized correctly. To teach the system to recognize it correctly in the future, do the following:
In the Personal Lexicon Manager, select the word you want to train.
Click Train.
The Speech Accuracy Trainer opens; you can now teach the system how you pronounce the word. For more information, see the Speech Accuracy Trainer Help.
Share updates to your personal lexicon
You can make words you have added available to other users of the SpeechMagic system.
If you have deactivated a word in your personal lexicon, you can share this update so the word is not recognized in other users' recordings - unless they have added the word to their own personal lexicons.
To share updates to your personal lexicon, do the following:
In the Personal Lexicon Manager, select the Advanced Mode check box.
Select the words whose status (Activated or Deactivated) you want to apply to other users.
Click Share.
Your shared changes will be available to other users in the system after they have been processed by SpeechMagic. The Shared column lists the words you have shared.
About Personal Lexicon Manager for SpeechMagic
Working on more than one word at the same time
All functions provided by the Personal Lexicon Manager, except the Add and Train functions, can be performed for more than one word at the same time.
Note: In advanced mode, not all functions can be executed for all types of words; for example, if one of the words you select has the status Deactivated, the Deactivate button will not be available.
To select a consecutive group of words, click the first word you want to select, hold down the SHIFT key and then click the last word you want to select.
To select nonconsecutive words, hold down the CTRL key and then click each word you want to select.
To select all displayed words, click Select All.
You can sort the words displayed in the Personal Lexicon Manager:
To sort the words alphabetically, click the Word column heading; to reverse the sorting order, click the Word column heading again.
To sort the words by type, click the Type column heading.
Note: Deactivated words are only displayed in advanced mode. To display deactivated words, select the Advanced mode check box.
Filtering your personal lexicon
You can filter the words displayed in the Personal Lexicon Manager:
To display only words of a certain type, select the desired type from the Filter drop-down list.
Note: The filters available depend on the mode (standard mode or advanced mode) you are working in. To switch modes, select/deselect the Advanced mode check box.
To display only words beginning with a certain letter or combination of letters, enter the letters in the Word field.
When will my changes take effect?
The changes done via the Personal Lexicon Manager will be immediately effective on the PC you are currently working on. They will be available to you on other PCs in the system after they have been processed by SpeechMagic.
